Membership of BAPCR is open to paintings conservator-restorers both from the private sector and from museums or public collections, conservation scientists. and at a special rate students on recognized training courses and training  in private studios.

 

There are currently three categories of membership of the BAPCR; Fellow, Associate and Student Associate.

Fellowship of BAPCR has been until 2013 awarded following examination to members who have at least seven years’ experience. It is the Association’s accreditation, and as such shows prospective clients, as well as the world at large, that the Fellow has achieved a level of mastery in the field. It is also accepted by other bodies—for example the Conservation Register counts the BAPCR as an accrediting body for inclusion of practices on their own database.
