AIMS OF THE ASSOCIATION

One
To maintain and improve high standards in training and practice of the profession.

Two

To consider and discuss within the Association matters relating to the profession and its work; to evaluate and disseminate ideas and information to the profession and the public; to help exchange ideas and share experience and maintain contacts between Members, between the Association and other practitioners of restoration and conservation, and between the Association and other associations and organisations in Great Britain and overseas. 

Three
To encourage the investigation of new ideas, methods and materials which might be of benefit to the profession.

Four
To foster a high standard of professional and ethical conduct by members and to protect the interest of their customers.

Five
To advance the education of the public as to the restoration and conservation of paintings and the processes involved.

Six
To protect our heritage; to safeguard the interests of the profession and to support Members.
